My name is Donta Hughes. I am from Chicago, IL, born and raised. I've spent half of my life growing up on the Southside and the other half on the Westside, before moving to Minnesota. 

Thanks to the many racial events that my family have experienced and the way that we dealt with, we were featured on the cover of a local magazine, "Neighbors Of Chaska". I have also, been featured on sites of local news media, Kare11, WCCO and more national news media MPR, The New York Times and others. We have never asked for any of it, the racism, the interviews, activism, community leadership. It all happened because of my willingness to communicate with anyone.
